Keran is a Ph.D. student in epidemiology at Michigan State University. Before joining MSU, she got her bachelor’s degree in medicine and a master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Fudan University, China and another master’s degree in health data science at the University of Manchester (UoM), UK. At Fudan University, she focused on aging, especially cognitive aging, among people with HIV infection. At UoM, she expanded her toolbox by using different machine learning techniques and proteomics to stratify the prognostic outcome of patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Currently, she’s working on applying causal inference concepts and techniques to explore and dissect associations across medications, sensory loss, biomarkers, and neurodegenerative diseases using data from big cohort studies with various study designs.
