Bendu Sherman
Bendu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatics and a Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant. Her academic background is in Global Public Heath. She completed her Master of Public Health at the University of Sheffield in England and has a Bachelor of Arts in Global Health Studies and International Affairs from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Bendu's research interest is in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health. She is further interested in understanding how infections during pregnancy impact birth outcomes and perinatal health. Before joining Michigan State University, she worked as a research project coordinator on the RV466 Research project in Liberia through a research collaboration with the Joint West African Research Group, the Armed Forces of Liberia, and Henry Jackson Foundation.
