Claire Schertzing

Claire Schertzing is a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Michigan State University and serves as the president of BEAMS (Biostatisticians and Epidemiologists at Michigan State), the graduate student association for the department. Before beginning her PhD in Epidemiology in 2020 she obtained a masters degree in public health at Michigan State. She holds BA degrees in Biology and Spanish Language and Literature from Kalamazoo College where she was a student athlete competing in springboard diving. Her current research seeks to understand how religiosity affects the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections in the US population.
