Substance Use, Injury Prevention, Spatial and Econometric methods.
The opportunity to continue learning and to lead my own research. I want to improve the public’s health through my research!
I was interested in working with my advisor, Dr. Kip Bohnert, and I knew that I could receive a high-quality education in the specific fields of epidemiology that I am interested in. I also enjoy living in Michigan, and I am happy to be near my family.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and present my research at a few conferences across the country. I always enjoy “nerding-out” in a fun place with like-minded people!
This department is incredibly supportive and there are so many research and professional development opportunities for students.
Students in this department have the best of both worlds. Our small classes and one-on-one opportunities with faculty/staff allow for individualized support, yet we also have the resources and opportunities of a large university.
Become involved! The more you put into this program the more you will get out of it.
I hope to continue my research in substance use/injury science and eventually would like to become a research professor.
I love hiking, camping, paddleboarding and just being outside. I also enjoy watching the Detroit Lions and going to concerts.
