Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
Las Vegas, NV

Dr. Bender joined the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in 2023, where he is leading the development of integrative clinical neuroimaging biomarkers of risk and resilience for cognitive impairment and dementia in multifocal neurodegenerative disease.

Trained in psychology, gerontology, and cognitive neuroscience, my work emphasizes elucidation of interactions between longitudinal changes in brain structure and function, cognitive abilities, and physiological health across the lifespan. My primary research goals are to identify critical factors that convey vulnerability to or protection against age-associated declines in brain health and cognition. A significant part of my research to date has focused on the how influence of genetic, vascular, and metabolic risk factors on brain structure modifies longitudinal trajectories of brain health and cognition in older age. bendera3@ccf.org
