Brandi Bartell is a dual degree M.S. Epidemiology student at Michigan State University. In May of 2022, Brandi graduated from MSU with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Health and Society with an Anthropology cognate and a minor in Environment and Health. She is currently a student research assistant in Dr. Steve Ondersma’s Parent eHelp Lab at the Division of Public Health MSU Flint. In addition to this, she has had the opportunity to participate in two global health experiences abroad which has intensified her interest in public health. As a future public health contributor and epidemiologist, Brandi’s interests are in chronic and communicable diseases, health disparities, and health equity. She aims to improve population health by examining political, social, and health factors that exacerbate the risk of disease for vulnerable populations.
