Kerver Research Group

Many important problems in child health and development may result from a mother’s environment during pregnancy. We work with a coalition of scientists in Michigan and with other study groups who are part of the national ECHO program, to learn what changes might be made during a woman’s pregnancy that could prevent later problems in child health and development.

We also have a community-driven research agenda centered at our Traverse City Medical Campus. Recent project examples include testing “Food as Medicine” interventions during pregnancy, and developing community solutions for addressing opioid use disorder during pregnancy.
