Research Ethics

 

EPI 828 and the year-long series (Graduate School Workshops) are REQUIRED for all PhD and MS students. (Biostatistics and Epidemiology)

MSU Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Responsible Conduct of Research Plans  Master's and PhD Students

1) Year 1

All new graduate students will complete the Graduate School RCR Workshops within the first year of enrollment in their program: Completion of this requirement will be tracked in SABA

2) Year 2

All graduate students will complete EPI 828 for 3 credits during fall semester.

3) Discussion-Based Training

All graduate students must complete a minimum of 6 hours of discussion-based training prior to receiving their degrees. This requirement is accomplished with completion of EPI 828. For master's and PhD students completion of this requirement will be recorded by the department in Gradlnfo as "Initial" training.

In addition to 1, 2, and 3 above, doctoral students will complete:

4) Annual Refresher Training

Starting in year 3, all doctoral students must complete 3 hours of annual refresher training. Students will be expected to read content on the D2L website and participate in a group discussion. Completion of this requirement will be recorded by the department in Gradlnfo as "Annual" training.
